MY BODY, MY BABY

After birth every woman has a new relationship with her body. That relationship may be beautiful, safe, empowering or it may be foreign, uncomfortable, difficult. Maybe your relationship is even completely neutral. Regardless, the extra softness and thick feeling is as new as the pregnant belly was the first time you experienced it. Your clothes don't fit, your pelvis is in a new position, your abdominal muscles are sagging and separated. It's beautiful and it's uncomfortable and it's everything in between.

In this class, we work to reconnect: to feel, move, explore, and meet this new, powerful space that is housing you! We use a body neutral approach and focus on joyful movement without any goals or guilt. We will also practice movements that can be done including your baby, so that as a new mom, when there is never any time for anything, you can have some go to ways to make your body feel good that include the beautiful little tyrant you just birthed!

INFANT PLAY TIME

So you have this new baby. They’re squishy and sweet and know how to do, well, just about nothing! This can be not only very overwhelming, but also a bit boring. That’s where I come in! Let’s get on the ground and play. Tummy time is talked about often, but, while it’s really important, there is just so much more to it. We can play in many positions that support development. We can bounce and babble and even snuggle our way to good development! So let’s get around other new parents, tap into your intuition, and figure out what you and your baby need right now to infuse some play and joy into that new baby life. Join us for floor time, play, and community with other parents while supporting your baby's social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and sensory development.
